SESAME AND ORANGE TOFU

Ingredients
Orange sauce:
- 5 ml (1 tsp) sesame oil
- 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) chopped fresh ginger
- 250 ml (1 cup) fresh orange juice
- 30 ml (2 tbsp.) rice vinegar
- 30 ml (2 tbsp.) maple syrup
- 15 ml (1 tbsp.) cornstarch + 1 tbsp. water
- Orange zest to taste
For the crispy tofu:
- 1 package extra firm tofu (454 g), drained and cut into triangles
- 30 ml (2 tbsp.) GARNO crispy tofu spice
- 1 beaten egg
- 80 (1/3 cup) sesame seeds
- 5 ml (1 tsp) sesame oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 broccoli, cut into florets
- 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) fresh ginger, grated
- 1 orange, peeled and cut into pieces
Steps
For the orange sauce:
1 - In a saucepan heat the sesame oil.
2 - Add the chopped garlic and grated ginger. Cook for 1 minute.
3 - Add the orange juice, rice vinegar and maple syrup. Bring slowly to a boil.
4 - Add the diluted cornstarch and orange zest to taste. to obtain a thick texture and creamy. Remove from the heat.
For the crispy tofu:
5 - Place the tofu pieces in a bowl
6 - Add the tofu spices and mix.
7 - Place the tofu pieces in the bowl. beaten egg and then in the sesame seeds
8 - Place in the air fryer basket
9 - Cook in the air fryer at 200°C (400°F) 10 to 12. minutes (or until crispy).
10 - Remove from air fryer
11 - In a large non-stick pan, heat the sesame oil. n
12 - Add the onion and broccoli florets then cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
13 - Add the garlic and grated ginger. Cook for 1 minute. Add half of the orange sauce. Mix.
14 - Add the pieces of tofu and the rest of the orange sauce. Mix to coat them well.
15 - Add the orange pieces. Mix.
16 - Serve and enjoy immediately.
